What I'm Bringing To The Summer House

by Anchor-Of-My-Eye

Andrew and I are heading to Westport with a couple of friends for a long weekend soon, and as it will be our only summer getaway this year, I'm sure I don't need to say how much I'm looking forward to it.  Every year when we go, I find myself packing at the last minute, throwing stuff in a bag.  This year I'm thinking ahead a bit.  Here's what I'm bringing:

Three swimsuits.  I've learned to bring a few because once you get one wet, it's not so much fun to sit around in it on the dock or on the deck.

A one-piece that I scored for $20 at a vintage trunk sale

I'm bringing my sun hat.

And some chemical-free sunscreen.

One vintage sundress in case we decide to go in to town.

One pair of running around sandals.  I love Aerosole sandals because they're inexpensive and really comfortable.  (They're also my go-to commuting shoes in the summertime because style should never keep a lady from making it through train doors right before they close.)

A couple bottles of Lillet.  It's a running tradition for us to have a little glass of this with ice and orange slices each day with breakfast.

Some kitchy vintage German sunglasses that I love.

BPAL.  I never travel without a little bit of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfume oil.

Also, a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a light sweater, a cover-up, my iPod, a couple of books, and oh yeah, these guys.
