So this weekend I finally got around to painting the hallway, which was very, very exciting. The color is so much prettier than I imagined it would be---so cool and refreshing, yet still bright, which I feel is important for such a small space.
There's still a lot for me to do here. I want to paint the door frame, add molding at the ceiling, eventually add more art to the bookcase to create a layered look, get more vintage tins for storage inside the bookcase, and hopefully add a cool tray of some kind to keep mail and keys and whatnot. And I need to figure out what to do with the dog leashes, because when they hang by the wall they mark it up, so that's not going to work. (There is room by the door for a little seat, and I'm hoping to find something that has a little hidden storage in there for leashes and collars.) And at some point a runner for the floor would be great. Oooh, and maybe some wallpaper for the wall behind the bookcase! But I'm getting ahead of myself. For now, this is a massive improvement and a good starting point to build on.
